OUTDOOR TESTED FROST PROOF
FUNCTIONAL CERAMICS WITH MEMBRANE EFFECT
Ströher ceramics have a "weatherproof" pore structure with breathable capillary channels and a draining homogeneous particle structure as a result of the extrusion process used in their manufacture. Even the smallest amount of condensation water can escape naturally and does not have to blast its way through the tile.
It is what we call the membrane effect. During the transition seasons, outdoor ceramics must withstand temperature fluctuations of up to 70 °C caused by rapid freeze-thaw cycles, depending on the regional location. Our ceramics withstand - and thus meet the DIN EN ISO 10545-12 test standard, even beyond the required laboratory conditions.
Extruded from moist clay, the strongly structured back surface of the coarse ceramic enables optimum interlocking properties with the substrate and thus optimum adhesive pull strength. In contrast to the "glazed" surface of dry-pressed shards, coarse ceramics do not loosen when properly installed, even under thermally induced stresses.
