ARCHITECTURAL FIRING BRICK SLIPS AND FLOOR TILES
FOR THE NEW HEADQUARTERS OF THE MAIL ORDER GIANT ZALANDO
ARCHITECTURAL FIRING BRICK SLIPS AND FLOOR TILES FROM THE STRÖHER GROUP FOR THE NEW HEADQUARTERS OF THE MAIL ORDER GIANT ZALANDO IN BERLIN
During the last few years, the Anschutz site in the east of Berlin has developed into one of the most exciting districts of the capital city. The seven-storey office building "M_Eins" is situated in a central position directly on the banks of the River Spree and opposite the last part of the Berlin Wall, accommodating the new headquarters of Zalando, Europe's biggest mail order supplier of footwear and fashion. The façade and floor areas impress with ceramics from the Dillenburg-based Ströher Group.
The insulated shell of the building was clad with just under 3000 square metres of clinker brick slips and 5000 corner brackets from Ströher. The architectural firing enables the creation of a special, customised, modern and appealing clinker look "The entire project process went very smoothly. The investor, the general contractor and the architects' office are very satisfied with the products and the project support provided by Ströher. And really, that's all that matters", sums up Managing Director Patrick Schneider proudly. And the new Zalando headquarters also shines on the inside, too, with products from the Ströher Group. Here, almost 1000 square metres of stoneware tiles from the Gepadi series Basaltina were installed. Zalando uses the building directly next to the Mercedes-Benz Arena and the Mercedes-Benz Sales Centre as part of its campus, where two more buildings are to be added in 2018. 800 employees will soon be working there, in office space covering more than 15,000 square metres, in light rooms with a ceiling height of 3 metres.
