Dirk Hümmer is to be the new Technical/Commercial Managing Director of the Ströher Group. The position had been vacant since the share acquisition by Sto SE in Stühlingen and the departure of Gerhard Albert; Patrick Schneider, Managing Director of Sales, temporarily assumed overall responsibility for heading the company.
Dirk Hümmer will begin his work as Technical/Commercial Managing Director in Dillenburg on 1 January 2020 and will manage the business of the Ströher Group together with Patrick Schneider, who as Managing Director is responsible for all domestic sales and exports, as well as for marketing and production management across all brands. Therefore, in Dillenburg management is continuing to rely on tried-and-tested dual leadership of the group of companies. "I am looking forward to this unique and exciting challenge in Dillenburg, because the Ströher Group is already a giant in the international ceramic and clinker industry, thanks to dynamic performance and a high degree of innovative power," says Hümmer.
Internationally experienced ceramic and clinker professional
The 55-year-old has many years of experience in the international ceramics industry. After studying engineering, specialising in ceramics, at Koblenz University of Applied Sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate, Hümmer began his career as a plant manager with Röben Tonbaustoffe GmbH. After working as a plant manager and technical manager for many years at various companies in the German and Swiss brick industry, he moved to Wienerberger AG in 2012 where, as Director of Production and Operations and a member of the Executive Board, he was involved in various subsidiaries of the group. Hümmer is currently the Managing Director of Pipelife GmbH, a subsidiary of Wienerberger AG.
