Johannes Weg, Managing Director of Ströher Production: "We have now replaced our decentralised compressed air supply system with the latest technology, which involves a centrally controlled airbox system. With this, the compressed air is generated using speed-regulated high-efficiency screw compressors and can thus be optimally adapted to the fluctuating demands of production. The heat generated during the generation of the compressed air is fed into the company heating network via heat exchangers. Approx. 500 kWh of waste heat is used for heating purposes in this way. We expect this investment to have paid for itself within two years at the most."
The new technology not only allows compressed air consumption to be optimised, but also enables savings to be made with regard to heating and hot water costs. The new system also uses considerably less energy to generate the same amount of compressed air. This efficiency doesn't just provide a competitive advantage, but is also good for the environment.
