The first working day for the new junior staff began with a brief company presentation and a joint breakfast, during which introductions were made and the mentors and apprentices had the opportunity to get to know each other.
For apprenticeships, the Ströher Group uses a mentor system that has become successfully established in recent years. It involves members of staff who joined the apprenticeship programme in previous years acting as mentors by assisting the new apprentices with their new everyday working routine and providing assistance whenever any questions arise. This ensures contact and integration, and gives the apprentices a feeling of security. These are values that are important in the Ströher Group.
The highlight of the introductory day was the two-hour factory tour through the heart of Ströher: the production facilities. In recent yeras, apprentices have shown their interest not only in complex production facilities in the individual Ströher plants, but also by the fact that Ströher uses local raw materials to make high-quality products that impress users throughout the world.
In addition to the traditional commercial fields, Ströher provides training in technical professions in particular, such as industrial mechanics, industrial ceramics and electronics engineering.
Johannes Weg, Managing Director of Production at Ströher GmbH: "Our qualified specialist staff, especially of industrial ceramics, safeguard the standards that are associated worldwide with clinker ceramics 'Made in Dillenburg'. In order to expand our market-leading position in the field of floor and facade ceramics based on strand extrusion, we rely on having motivated and qualified young people and are happy to invest in the training of young specialists."
The Ströher Group currently focuses its activities on four areas of business, with the Outdoor sector covered by extrusion specialist and parent company Ströher GmbH, with floor and facade ceramics. The two subsidiaries "Gepadi Fliesen" and "Ströher Living" round off the product range with residential ceramics.
